Imagine this:

When you were little, your parents packed your lunchbox before school. You didn’t have to worry about buying food or trading snacks—you just opened the box, and there it was. Medicare is kind of like that lunchbox for your health care when you’re older—it’s already packed with the basics you need.

Medicare is health insurance from the government for people age 65 and up (and sometimes younger folks with certain health needs).
Think of it as your “big kid” backpack—it carries the important stuff to keep you going.

Just like a box of crayons has different colors, Medicare has different parts:

• Part A (Red crayon) → Covers your hospital stays. Like a red STOP sign at the hospital door—you're covered.
   
• Part B (Blue crayon) → Covers doctor visits and checkups. Blue like the scrubs your doctor wears.
   
• Part C (Green crayon / Advantage Plans) → A combo pack! Includes Parts A & B, sometimes extras like dental or vision. Green means GO—because it adds more coverage in one plan.
   
• Part D (Yellow crayon) → Covers prescription drugs. Think yellow pill bottles lined up at the pharmacy.
   

Healthcare can feel like a giant puzzle. 

Medicare gives you the corner pieces so you can see the picture. Once you know the basics, you can choose the pieces (plans) that fit your life best.

Medicare doesn’t have to be confusing or scary.
